Music is a holistic compilation of both sounds and noises. Music is the undulating pitches and intervals orchestrated in a resonating composition. Can the ear-splitting din of a revving engine possibly be married to melodic lyrics? Can the throbbing racket of the dustbin lids clanging be an unexplored well of inspiration? Music might be an instinct -- a psychological need, hence its pervasion in the timeline of cultured performances of arts and emotions.
The beauty of amalgamating each note, side by side in a creative recipe, with surprising refreshments every now and then, is simply captivating. I can't help but appreciate music when I know how voices and insipid sounds can be refined into such intangible pleasure and fragility.
Being a music lover, I see music defined on all types of taste buds. To each his own, I guess. Really though, as long as something pleases my ears, I brand it music. It might be a facile criterion but isn't it more superficial to pick music by only its genre or whether it hits the top 10 on 98.7FM?
Reflecting relationships, music can arouse your sanity, sorrow, longing, boldness, romance or even a tinge of lust. Its entrancing beats (combined with a few drinks) can compel joy, vigour and irrationality at clubs, amplifying a wild and rowdy urge to gyrate in a sensual, sweaty knot of bodies. Most of the people at night clubs are dressed to impress, of course, so UFO's (unidentified fugly objects :P) isn't really an issue.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
