Just wrote this fun, short story as it randomly came to my head. Felt like a good a day as any! Up to you how you wanna interpret this passage of misinterpretation. Courtesy of my brain. :)
She cringed under his silence -- a deafening smolder suffocating her instincts to breathe. He thought he had clinched it -- with a silence that nodded a gentle air of resolution. The sweat on her brow must have been visible; she was trembling down to her bowels, biting back the urge to break the silence.
The man was taciturn under his lopsided, elongated tweed cap, which made him look like he had a beak on his head. After a series of ribald and sensual hand gesticulations, he had started twirling his fork around with his spindly fingers and cupped the spoon's head in his mouth. A glint in his eyes or a reflection from the cutlery? Perhaps that scintillating Tommy Hilfiger watch curled around his wrist like shimmering handcuffs?
She reflexively slid her brown hair behind her ears as she continued studying him, her wavy contours falling into place along the crests and troughs of her body. Was she too suggestive? Did she interpret his actions like a woman rightfully should? Or did he have her around the tips of his fingers, like that fork he was stringing along with his thread-like digits?
"Um, pardon me," she said, for the third time, "but coming on to me with your fingers isn't gonna help either of us. I'm not really a finger type of lady, just so you know."
Clearly drowned in exasperation by this repetitive revelation, he shoved his bony hand into his pants and unveiled a cell phone. His eyes shone hungrily while he stabbed the buttons. Probably how he would look like if she gave him the green light. She could vividly imagine how that would feel. The silence was punctured by his button's brisk tones, colouring imagination with fantasy.
The entire atmosphere seemed to break and reassemble at its fulcrum that was his phone's screen: "I'm gay and mute, just so you know."
