2014? Ain’t got no time for that.

Okay, I've officially snapped out of my drunken stupor and am ready to type. =] First off, Happy New Year, everyone! Next.

2014. You were a roller coaster ride; I had a love-hate r/s with you; too much emotional politics that I couldn't care less, national, international or personal. But rather than doing what a lot of people have done -- writing and reminiscing about their accomplishments and rage quitting 2014 -- I'd rather talk about the future.

2015, rather than be afflicted by chronic claustrophobia of small minds, I've decided to grab you by the ass, introduce myself and elope with you. By that, obviously, I mean escapism: travel whores -- pouncing on place after place with voracious lust, bumping into old and new friends alike, and soliciting adventures like souped-up adrenaline turbo junkies.

On the sidelines, I will (try to) graduate (with brilliant grades). I will land a full-time writing job thereafter. I will intensify workouts and get ripped. Get my girlfriend to approve of kinky you need a life if you're reading this.

I would post pictures about how awesome I have been in 2014, but since I'm determined not to go down memory lane, I shall not talk about how I excelled in both leisure and studies: getting my Advanced diving certificates, High Distinctions from two of the toughest lecturers in my university and chiseled abs. Nope, I shall not. :) ....... Nah.

Now, more about my plans for 2015. I'm so conscientious, aren't I? Planning my resolutions in such poetic and fastidious details on the first day of the year.

My kickass 2015 travel itinerary:
1) March -- F**kcing finish my bachelor course. This has to happen before all else.
**planning and working**
2) June -- Diving in Malapascua, Philippines
**planning and working**
3) August -- Backpacking in India
**planning and working**
4) October/November -- I hope I have time to climb Mt. Rinjani

On a related note, I'm also gonna break some news on here that I believe my co-bloggers haven't shared yet. A few of us have decided to come together to make a blog that is the central product of all our travels and creativity. The blog is primarily gonna be managed by a dedicated community of Singaporeans. We're starting casual, but ambitious, or at least, I am. ;)
There will likely be sections pertaining to the outdoors and adventure, travel, culture (including food, heritage and society), natural phenomena, etcetera. We will be commencing and fully operational come the end of this or next month, hopefully. If you're afraid of missing out on content, our blogs will all be linked and we'll try to have a Facebook page running as well.
For inspiring writers, travel enthusiasts and adventure nuts, you're welcome to join us as contributors! English proficiency? We honestly don't care, since it's not about language anyways. It'll probably only apply if you're looking to be an editor on our blog, which we can pretty much handle by ourselves.

My motivations and inspirations:
"No great mind has ever existed without a touch of madness."
- Aristotle

"Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."
Which means Marilyn Monroe really owns. Some hate her, others adore her. I'm just here for the quotes.
I've always believed that life is an adventure. That we should head to the front lines in our own flesh and see for ourselves how colossally spectacular it is. Don't trap yourself with the same old shit with the same old faces, wrapped in the same old drama and the same old wake-up call. Readily available within the Internet are whole lists of methods to see the world and experience a smorgasbord of exquisite cultures. Live and have your life pinned as a tapestry of spunky, go-getting bravado and wonders so many think are out of reach.

Some other quotes about life and adventure by famous individuals:

"It is only in adventure that some people succeed in knowing themselves -- in finding themselves."
- Andre Gide

"Sometimes, you just need an adventure to jump-start your life."
- Me

"Marry an outdoors woman. Then if you throw her out into the yard on a cold night, she can still survive."
- William C. Dukenfield

"Sights are meant to be seen. The only times they're not is when you avert your eyes."
- Me

"There is pleasure in the pathless woods; there is rapture on the lonely shore; there is society, where none intrudes, by the deep sea and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more."
- Lord Byron

"Life is either a great adventure or nothing."
- Helen Keller

"Life is an adventure, it's not a package tour."
- Eckhart Tolle

"The journey by itself is so much higher than its peak."
- Me

"We are created for adventure, and if we cannot find one, we start blowing things out of proportion so it feels like we have one."
- John Eldredge

"And you feel as though the drama of adrenaline is the only thing fueling you, because you need to know what the end is like."
- Me

"Returning home is the most difficult part of long-distance hiking; you have grown outside the puzzle and your piece no longer fits."
-Cindy Ross

"Sex outdoors is great. I'm not an exhibitionist, but I love the possibility that people might be able to see."
- Ali Landry (hot model, by the way)

"Before I can't, I want to see everything."
- Me

Outta the way 2014, 2015 is raring to go.
